Going to Covent garden to see Comus; have been twice to the Exhibition which is far superior to recent ones; have been to the Coliseum - the view of London is stupendous but the rest of the exhibition not ready. Visits, including to Sir J. Wyatville. Picture sales; the King has purchased a Claude. The present Captain will have Montem even if there is a resignation as he was not elected until 1827 so could not go on last year's indentures. Unhappy at proposed plans for Windsor Castle. O'Connell expected to attempt to take his seat today 'and I shall not be surprised if the pusillanimity of the Ministry gives way to him'. Expecting a surveyor's proposals for the letting of Chalcots on building leases. 'It will prove a self-denying ordinance to the present members but we hope very beneficial to our successors'. Likely to be great competition but the College will have the expense of making roads and drains. PLACE: Gordon's Hotel, London
