1 item als
Has taken a house in Conduit Street but owing to 'these abominable elections' it will be impossible to go there till next Friday. Has been successful in his canvas for Lord Chandos [as MP for Bucks] and thinks Goulburn will head the poll at Cambridge, followed by Cavendish then Palmerston and Pell neck and neck. Visited by the Duke of Gloucester. In the middle of redecoration; 'to my eye the old paper is in excellent preservation'. Do not believe that the King is a reformist. Invitation to dinner at Windsor Castle. Describes the other guests; nothing could exceed the kindness of the King and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. PLACE: The Lodge, Eton
