Senior Fellow of King's (Charles Simeon) dead; at Eton with him; laughed at his mixture of foppery and enthusiasm. Lord Wellesley has asked if it was the 'Lord Simon' who flirted with Miss Floyers on the Terrace. Another Fellow, Peter Hinde, formerly an Assistant, has also died, unlike his predecessor not in the odour of sanctity. Current Senior Fellow about to be ejected for living 'in a state of concubinage' and the one after him has just been ejected for the same cause. This will mean no Fellow above the age of 50. Cannot attend conservative dinner as his residence will have begun. A well meaning friend has obtained a vote for him at Norwich. Storm has torn up a second tree in the Playing Fields. Mr Ramsbottom gives up the banking and brewing concern at Windsor; has taken Grove House with a view to his election interest; general opinion that he will not be re-elected. Problems with the Dispensary. Bishop of London [C. Blomfield] has entered his son. St Andrew's Day, 1836, wrongly annotated 1838
