New bookcase for Gould and similar 'ouvrages de luxe'. Glad to have pleasure of Sir Charles Metcalfe's company; other guests. Coins and medals. Cruelly used in their suit against the railroad company. Reversed on back page and struck through: death of Camplin Bernard (8 January 1839); third resignation since Election and two more may be expected, both for marriage.
