'That odious electric telegraph' has long since told that Etonians beat Winchester in an innings [cricket]. Painful to digest but the greatest pain was parting with 'such a warm hearted excellent set'. His affectionate wishes will follow every one of them. Had a happy Eton meeting in his gallery that morning. Hopes that in two years time they will see Goodford. Will not soon forget the friendship shown by Mr Hawtrey and Mr Johnson in coming and bringing their boys.
