Content description
Was informed that it was understood at Eton that Harrow and Rugby or Winchester were to have an extra week's holiday in honour of the Peace. Queen Victoria has agreed that he should apply in her name for a similar addition to the summer holidays. Now finds that Harrow had it added to the Easter holiday and that the week that they were to have this holiday on the occasion of the laying of the foundation stone of the new chapel is to be given at Christmas. If Eton also had a week at Easter in honour of the peace, no need for an extra week now, but if not Goodford may be disposed to grant it.
