Modbury, Devon: Ordinance over keys to St George's church

Peter, bishop of Exeter, has appointed Peter, archdeacon of Exeter, and Roger le Rous, subdeacon of Exeter, to hear the case between the Prior and monks of Modbury and William, vicar of Modbury. Power granted at Canonleigh, 16 Kalends August 1289 [17 July 1289]. Dispute includes the keys and the opening of the doors at St George's church - all doors around the church to have two separate locks, one key with the Vicar, one with the Prior. Dated at Modbury, 10 Kalends August 1289.
