Letters of proxy of Robert, Abbot of the monastery of Blessed Mary de Spineto of St. Peter super Divam, and of the whole convent, dicoese of Seez, appointing the bearers their general proctors and special nessengers to nominate to Henry, King of Englanf, to the Priory of the Blessed Mary of Tuttisbur', diocese of Coventry and Lichfield, vacant, or when it shall be vacant, by the resignation og Adam de Preaux or his death or other cause, William Dauffin, William Beuselin and John Baudri, monks of the monastery aforesaid, for his choice.
Two Seals. Pointed oval, on a slit tongue, green wax.
(1) Obverse, 60.mm. orignially about 62.mm. a little broken at the edges, good impression. The Blessed virgin seated full face beneath a canopy with the Child standing on he left knee, between a key and a fleur de lys.
Reverse, 33.mm, counterseal, The Blessed Virgin half turned towards an angel on her right holding a scroll.
(2) 60.mm. orignially about 75.mm. much broken away, The Blessed Virgin crowned, within a gothic canopy and arch, with the Child on her left arm seated, in base, the Abbot with cozier in right hand within a round arch, between shields of arms, paly of six.
