Public Instument, being a notification by James Carslgh, Archdeacon of Exeter, deputy of dominus Edmund, Bishop of Exeter, in his absence, of the resignation of dominus Adam de Pryaulx, Prior to Toutebury, Cicestren' diocese, from the Priory of Modyry (which he also held), made in a hall of the archdeaconry in the Catherdral close at Exeter 25. Witnesses: dominus William Dounebant, Prior of the Cowyk, of the order of St. Benedict, Richard Walter, clerk, and Richard Baly, of the Diocese of Exeter.
Seal, of the office of president of the consistory, pointed oval, 40.mm. red wax, oendant on doubled tag, good condition. A mitre impaled by a crozier, between a sword and a doubled key, each gripped by a hand.
