Indenture of lease, by master William Daye, Provost, and the College, of Eton, to Roger Daye, of Denham, Co. Bucks, of the site of the rectory or parsonage of Modbury, with all it's appurtenances, the advowson of the vicarage excepted, from Michaelmas 1568. or when the ten year lease to Nycholas Slannynge of 30. October 1558. shall have expired, paying twenty pounds at the Annunciation next and nineteen pounds at the following Michaelmas and ten "goode weither sheepe sownde and fatte shamble ware of Chilterne breede or as goode" to be delivered at the College in their pasture there called the Playinglease.
