Indenture of agreement between Francis Fulwood, D.D. Archeacon of Totnes, and Martin Ryder, of the Middle Temple, Esquire, on the one part and Zachary Cradock, D.D. Provost of Eton, on the other, by which:-
(1) The Provost and Fellows have agreed not to go to law concerning the lease of the Priory and Rectory of Modbury and the manors of Modbury, Upton and Penquite, lately held by Edmund Fowell, deceased, during the minority of Sir John Fowell, Bart. John Wood and Bridgett, his wife, for whom, with Bridgett Fowell, relict of the said Edmund, the said Dr. Fulwood and Mr Ryder are trustees.
(2) The said trustees, before 28 November next, shall provide the Provost and Fellows with sufficient terriers of the estates, and true copies of the Court Rolls engrossed.
(3) The Trustees agree to pay the Provost and Fellows the sum of twenty pounds in lieu of all expenses to which the latter have been put either in the lifetime of the said Edmund or since his death for the recovery of the premises.

Seal of Cradock, oval 18.mm. red wax papered, pendent on doubled tag. A shield of arms, on a chevron three garbs.
