Content description

Indenture of lease, for a certain sum of money, by Henry Cole, Provost, and the College, to Owen Hylarye of Pyddlehinton, of the demesne lands in Pyddlehinton, to hold for 20 years from Michaelmas 1569, for a rent of £4. The lessee shall provide food and lodging for the lessors, and their horses, for one day and one night a year whenever they shall come there. Signature "Owen Hyllary."
Seal, round, 15mm, red wax, on doubled tag. Same as (1) below?

Attached by a parchment tongue is a bond by the lessee and William Savage in £40 to the Provost and College, the condition of which is that, if the conditions of the accompanying indenture are observed, the bond shall be void.
Seals, on tongues, red wax, (1) Round, 15mm, a cock (2) Oblong, 17 mm, E. HARGAT.
