Precept by the King, to Nicolas Walton and William Okeden, farmers of the rectory or prebend of Uphaven [Upavon] alias the alien priory of Uphaphen, co. Wilts, with the chapel of Charlton annexed thereto, late under the obedience of the abbey of St Wandrille (or Fontenelle) in Normandy, (granted to them from Michaelmas 35 Henry VI for twenty years by letters patent dated 18 May 35 Henry VI) to pay the farm of 20 marks for the custody of the premises to the Provost and College of Eton to whom it has been granted by letters patent of 9 February 37 Henry VI.
The Great (Silver) seal, natural colour wax, pendent on a tongue. Fragmentary, only the upper portion surviving:
Obverse - The King's head and three canopies.
Reverse - The King's body to the waist.
