Stogursey, Somerset: Indenture of lease of messuage

Indenture of lease for their lives by Godfrey prior of Stoke Curcy [Stogursey] and the monks there to John Caysere, Matilda, his wife, and Sarah, their firstborn; of a messuage and croft of arable adjacent lying between the house of John Monketon on the west and the town cemetery on the east and a curtilage lying next Hurpullane called Fremantel and a way lying from the said curtilage to the croft sometime of Walter Malpaut extending to the eastern part of the croft and called Hurpullane; and the reversion of eight acres of arable with the whole rent of the same which Andrew Lanlais had of the feoffment of the abbey of Lonlay called Cokeslonde lying between the King's way which leads towards Bruges [Bridgewater] on the south and the land of Thomas atte Crosse on the north, on the death of the said Andrew. Yearly rent a rose at the feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist. Withnesses: William Corduent William Doget, Adam, Henry Bakelere Adam Peres and others.
