Content description
Indenture of lease by Syr William Clerks, with the consent of Rauff Bulloke, to John Michell, of a tenement called Gwhythert, with a garden belonging, in which the said John now dwells, lying in Windsor next the inn called the Crown on the south and a tenement of Charlys Rypon on the north and the Kynges heyh stret on the west and the garthy of the Crowne on the east. To hold for 10 years from Lady day next, yearly rent 33s 4d payable in equal portions at Mydsomer, Michaelmas, Cristynmas and Easter. The lessee shall maintain and repair the property, and shall make a new 'botre' with the house before next Michaelmas, and shall pay to the abbot of Redynge a yearly rent of 16s. Raiff Bulloke shall have within the garden 12 feet of ground in breadth and 16 feet in length with free coming to the same.
And lease, with the consent of the said Rauff, to the said John of a barn with garner in the east end and 2 small tenantries in the west end, and a garden thereto pertaining, in Windsor between the lands of the College of Windsor on the west and the College of Eton on the east, and the abbot of Redynge on the south and the Temmes on the north. To hold for 10 years from Lady day next, yearly rent 20s at the four terms above. The lessee shall repair and said houses and the 'palynge of the hege' there, and pay to the abbot of Redynge a yearly rent of 12d.
And if the rents and the reparations are overdue by a quarter of a year, the lessor may enter and expel the lessee.
