Indenture of lease, by Henry Savill, Provost and the College, to Edward Bee, of London, gentleman, of a piece of vacant ground in the parish of St Sepulchre's without Newgate being near Cockes lane between the tenement sometime of Thomas Witton, ostler, on the south and Cockes lane [Cock Lane] on the north and extending in length next Cockes lane 33¾ ells and 3 inches and in length on the south 28 ells 3 inches and in length in the middle 39¾ ells. From Michaelmas last for 40 years. Rent 2s. The lessee to find in the messuage called the signe of the Ball in Holborne next adjoining the said plot of ground a sufficient chamber or lodging with bedding and other furniture meet for lodging for the Provost, Vice Provost and Fellows as often as they or any of them shall come to the city of London about the College business. Appointment by the lessors of Edmund Duffild, of London, gentleman, as their attorney to deliver seisin.
