"In King Henry the VIth tyme the XXIIIth yere of his raigne Willyam Kenet Citezen and Sadler of London by his last will and testament gave to the Wardeins or Keepers and Commonalty of the Sadlers of the Citie of London and to their successors for ever All that his tenement with fower cotages to the same tenement adjoyning with their appurtenaunces scituat in the parishe of Saynct Sepluchers without Newgate [St Sepulchre's without Newgate] in the suburbes of London (that is to saye) betwene the tenements of the church of St Sepulchre aforesaid of the north part and the tenement in which John Shirlocke, Sadler, then inhabited of the south parte and a tenemente of the same church on the west part and the King's highway there on the est part.
"The VIs by yere that is paide to Eton Collidge is or ought to be issuing out of the saide tenement and not out of the fower cotages, for we pay out of the fower cotages VIIIs by yere to littell St Bartelmewes hospitall next West Smythfelde of London.
"You shall fynde that the VIs by yere is going out of the said tenement which nowe ys out of our possession because the records of Eton Collidg saith it goith out of the said tenement set and being right agaynst the signe of the Lambe on the other side of the saide hiewaye."
