Copy of Act of Parliament 23 Henry VIII c.24 (Statutes of the realm vol. III p. 398) confirming deeds of exchange (recited in full) between the King and the Provost and College viz.
(1) Grant 1 November 1531 by Roger Lupton, Provost, and the College, of the Hospital of St James, Westminster, which they had by Letters Patent of 30 October 1449, now surrendered into the Chancery; reserving to the grantors lands called Chalcottes and Wyldes [Chalcots and Wilds] in Hendon, Finchley and Hampstead, and a tenement called le Whyte Bere [White Bear] in the parishes of St Mary Magdalene and All Saints in Westchepe [Cheapside] and Bradstreete [Bread Street], and a messuage in Westminster in which Thomas Brightman lives. (2) Letter Patent 26 December 1531 granting to the Provost and College the manor of Baudewyns [Baldwins] by Dartford, etc. (Cal. Letters & Papers, Foreign and Domestic Vol. V 1531 - 1532, 627 no. 28.)
