Copy of indenture of quitclaim, by Alice Trewthall, Prioress, and the Convent, of St Helen Bishopsgate, to William Borell, citizen and grocer of London and Joan, his wife, of 18s out of 36s rent from two shops they hold in Bredestreete [Bread Street] in the parish of All Saints; which two shops Felicia, sometime Prioress, and the Convent had granted in perpetuity 25 December 1269 to Anastasia sometime wife of William Buntinge for a rent of 36s. The said two shops were, and are, at the end of the said street, one of them against the market of Westcheape [Cheapside], and the other next to it on the south. If the same rent is in arrears the Prioress may entre and distrain not only the premises but also a shop of the said Borell in Westcheape in the parish of St Mary Magdalene in Milkestrete [Milk Street] abutting on the market of Westcheape viz between a tenement called le Beare on the east and the one of the said shops which is situated at the end of Bredestrete on the west, which said small shop in the parish of St Mary Magdalene is now occupied by William Sandy, barber. Given at the Priory of St Helen's.
