Stratfield Mortimer, Berkshire: Indenture of lease of messuage

Indenture of lease by Nicholas le Louier, prior of Clatford, proctor in England of the abbot and convent of St Victor in the diocese of Rouen, to William Lovekyn, of Stratfield Mortimer and Christine, his wife, of a messuage with a court adjacent in Stratfield Mortimer which John Berkesdale formerly held. To hold for their lives. Rent 14d. The lessees to be responsible for the maintenance of the premises.
Witnesses: dominus Henry, vicar of the church of Stratfeld Mortimer, Geoffrey atte Haghe, Thomas belle, Thomas atte Oke, John Wraggeby and others. Stratfeld Mortimer.
Two seals, greenish wax, on one doubled tag, one above the other.
(1) pointed oval, originally about 45mm, the lower end of the impression squashed. Two female figures beneath a canopy. Beneath them two figures kneeling in prayer.
(2) round, 20mm, Beneath a floral device some letters. A legend.
