Chattisham, Suffolk: Indenture of lease of manor

Indenture of lease by the Provost and College to George Barker, of Chetsham, yeoman, of the manor of Chetsham [Chattisham] with the parsonage there, and all tithes, demesne lands, meadows, feedings, pastures and other appurtenances of the manor, the advowson of the vicarage, woods, underwoods, wards, marriages, rents, reliefs, waifs and strays, fines, heriots, perquisites of courts and leets being excepted and reserved to the lessors. From Michaelmas last for 50 years. Rent 20 quarters of malt and £3 15s. The lessee to collect the college rents from the said manor in the parishes of Chatsham, Hintesham [Hintlesham], Wasbroukes [Washbrook], Preston, Bylston [Bildeston], Swollond [Swilland], Oteley [Otley] and Wenham; for his expenses in doing so he is to receive 6s 5d.
