Chattisham, Suffolk: Indenture of lease of manor

Indenture of lease by the Provost and College to Richard Flack, of Chetsham, yeoman, upon surrender of a lease to William Flack, of the manor of Chetsham [Chattisham] with the parsonage there, and all tithes, demesne lands, meadows, feedings, pastures and other appurtenances of the manor, the advowson of the vicarage, woods, underwoods, wards, marriages, rents, reliefs, waifs and strays, fines, heriots, perquisites of courts and leets being excepted and reserved to the lessors. From Michaelmas last for 19 years. Rent £3 15s and 6 quarters of wheat and 12 quarters of malt, or their money equivalent. The lessee agrees that he will not let or grant any part of the premises to any persons, other than the mill with the mill banke, a close called Puttockes downe and one acre of meadow called myll meade and a close called Little Okes Close to Robert Barker, and a tenement to John Frost from year to year, which late was in the occupation of John Clarke, without the consent of the lessors.
