Chattisham, Suffolk: Indenture of lease of manor

Indenture of lease by the Provost and College to Robert Barker, of Chetsham, yeoman, of the manor of Chetsham [Chattisham] with the parsonage there, and all tithes, demesne lands, meadows, feedings, pastures and other appurtenances of the manor, the advowson of the vicarage, woods, underwoods, wards, marriages, rents, reliefs, waifs and strays, fines, heriots, perquisites of courts and leets being excepted and reserved to the lessors. From Michaelmas last for 21 years. Rent £3 15s and 6 quarters of wheat and 12 quarters of malt, or their money equivalent. The lessee agrees that he will not let or grant any part of the premises to any persons other than to William Flacke for the next 8 years, and John Clark and Benjamin Furmyn who each hold tenements, without the consent of the lessors.
