Cottisford, Oxfordshire: Quitclaim of fold

Quitclaim by Ralph le Bar so of William le Bar of Codeford [Cottisford] to the abbot and convent of Bytlesden [Biddlesdon] of all his right in a fold for 120 sheep and all the compost from the same sheep both in the fold and in the pasture, which fold and compost the abbot was bound to find for him each year in his land at Codesford by a fine made in the King's court at Oxford (Trinity 31 Henry III) between him querent and Philip then abbot of Bytlesden deforciant. And acquittal of the said abbot and convent from all suits and foreign services pertaining to a hide of land in Codeford, which William his father had of the gift of the abbot and convent of St Peter on the Dive and which he (Ralph) holds hereditarily for his homage and service from the abbot and convent of Bytlesden; nor will he or his heirs give, sell or alienate the said hide without the consent of the said abbot and convent.
