Weedon Bec, Northamptonshire: Copy agreement to prove will of William Hall
Item
10 January 1522
Copy of indenture agreement between Edmund Knyghtley, of Falwesley [Fawsley], co. Northampton, esquire, on one part, and Richard Byllyng and Robert Lynell, of Wedon beck [Weedon Bec], executors of the will of William Hall, late of Wedon Beck, deceased, on the other. The said Richard and Robert agree to prove the said will before Easter next and to act in the execution of the same in a manner agreeable to the said Edmund; and Edmund agrees to save harmless the said Richard and Robert of all things concerning the said will as far as the goods of the William being in his hands will extend, and to allow them 12d a day for any day that they may ride in business connected with the will, and 8d a day for every day that they do not ride, being at London or 4 miles from their dwelling, in the same business. The executors give the said Edmund all the goods, chattels, leases and farms which were lately of the said William Hall and are now belonging to them; in consideration whereof the said Edmund lets them the farm or pasture called the Nowbold for a rent of £6. The parties bind themselves in bonds of £20 for the observance of the foregoing.
