Indenture of lease, by the Provost and College, in pursuance of the powers of "the Universities and College Estates Act 1858", to the Rev. Henry James Casteron Smelt, of Blakenham Magna rectory, John Keeble, of Lodge Farm, farmer, Thomas Herbert William Baker, miller, and Thomas Wainwright, of College Farm, farmer, of a piece of land at the corner of Mill Lane and the road leading from Stow Market to Ipswich, as shown in a plan attached, for the erecting of a parish room. From 29 September 1897 for 99 years. Rent 1s. The lessees to lay out at least £150 for the erection of the room, which is to be finished by 25 December 1898.
Signatures of the lessees, all witnessed by Frederick William Savage, grocer, of Blakenham Magna.
Four impressions of the same seal, red wax. A bearded head.

Attached is a letter to the Provost and College from the lessees, promising that the room shall be used only for the general purpose of the parish of Blakenham Magna, and that the tenant from time to time of the College Farm shall, if he consents, be one of the trustees of the room.
