Indenture witnessing that on 8 October 1339 William Wylemot, servant of the manor of Estwrotham [East Wretham] delivered to Adam Alayn, reeve there, the following goods and chattels; 4 bushels of rye, 1 quarter of oats, 8 draught animals, 5 fouls aged one year, 22 cows, 3 bulls, 3 heifers, 3 bullocks, 7 steers, 6 claves, 394 muttons, 417 ewes, 212 hoggetts, 141 lambs, 2 swans, 36 geese of which 2 are ganders and 4 [mariol], 2 cocks, 6 hens, 19 skins whereof 16 are lamb skins. In the chapel, 1 chalice of silver, 2 altarcloths, 1 alb with an amice, 1 chasuble with a stole, a maniple and corporal 1 alter top with a chest for putting vestments in. In the hall 1 basin with ewer, 2 tables with 2 pairs of trestles, 1 little table dormant [dormitorium]. In the lord’s chamber 1 chest for putting tallies in. in the pantry 1 [mariol’] 1 cloth 1 canvas 1 towel 5 beer barrels 1 small barrel for verjuice 6 cups 1 quarter of salt. In the dairy 7 tables for drying cheese 2 copper pots 1 pitcher containing a gallon, 2 copper dishes of which one is a big one bound with iron 1 iron frying pan 1 gridiron 2 tripods 1 grater 1 iron spot 1 iron tong 2 axes 1 bucket for drawing water 4 buckets 4 cheesevats 1 churn 1 quart vessel 1 gallon vessel. In the bakery 1 trough for dough 3 vats 3 tubs 2 trays 2 bowls 1 bolting cloth 1 sieve 1 “herseve” [hair sieve]. In the granary 2 bushels bound with iron 1 peck of straw 2 winnowing fans one of which is much worn out 4 sacks to hold corn. In the carthouse 1 cart bound with iron 1 cart plain. In the stable 2 cart saddles 6 collars 4 pairs of traces 2 ropes for carts 3 ploughs with all their gear 2 forks for sheaves 1 pickaxe 2 dung forks 3 shovels 3 mantles [falang] 1 saddle [seilone] 1 barrel of tar of the larger size almost full and enough tallow for greasing the sheep until Michaelmas 1 coffer for putting the tallow in 1 other for salting meat 33 big dishes 6 small dishes 31 plates 1 saucer of lead 9 saucers of wood 58 hurdles in the fold of the muttons 109 hurdles in the fold of the ewes and 71 hurdles in the town fold.
