Eton, Buckinghamshire: Indenture of lease

Indenture of lease, by the Provost and College to Elizabeth Collins, of Eton, widow, of a messuage or tenement with a curtilage and two crofts of meadow or pasture adjoining, and an orchard and close of meadow or pasture containing 1½ acres, with all their appurtenances, in Eton, the orchard and close abutting on the east on the Common Street, on the west on the King's Ditch, on the north on the College land demised to William Baylie and sometime in the tenure of Alexander Cotten, on the south on the house and orchard now in the tenure of George Goad, gentleman, all the premises being now in the tenure and occupation of Michael Rutter, gardener; with reservation to the lessors of a part of the orchard now in the tenure of Mr Goad, containing in length from the Common Street westward 9 poles less a yard and from the house of Mr Goad 2 poles 4 yards or thereabouts. From Michaelmas last for 21 years. Rent 40s and 2 pecks of wheat and 3 quarters 7 bushels 2 pecks of barley malt, or their money value.
