Indenture of lease, by the Provost and College to Clement Ratforde, servant and butcher of the College, of a plot or parcel of meadow ground called Persons Busshe containing 5 acres, and another called Innynge Meade containing 1 acre, and a part of the ground called Brockas containing 10 acres "as it shooteth it selfe alonge from a smale wyllowe that standeth at the corner of the hedge of a close of John Bell on the easte next to Thames Warde unto a smale ashe that standeth at the coner of the hedge that butteth uppon Myll Close on the west next to the gate there The on syde whereof abbutteth alonngne uppon a Lane that leadeth to Newe Wyndesor on the Northe And uppon the other syde lyeth the resydewe of the said Brockas grounde reserved to the saide Provost and colledge on the southe", all the premises being in Eton. From Michaelmas last for 21 years. Rent 16 cart loads of hay weighing 19 hundredweight, to be delivered in a certain yard called the stable yard adjoining the College either between the feast of St John the Baptist and the feast of St Bartholomew the Apostle or between Michaelmas and St Andrew's day, as the lessors shall choose. The lessors will pay the lessee 21s for "fellinge makinge and bringinge in" to the College as many loads of hay as shall grow upon Persons Bushe and Innynge Meade.
