Property in Buckinghamshire: Indenture of agreement

Indenture of agreement between Thomas Peionn, of Cyppenham, and Margaret atte Dene, of Burnham, of one part and John Colwelle, senior, of Cyppenham, of the other, by which the said Thomas and Margaret will find for the said John yearly for his life sustenance in food and drink as good as they have in their own house. And if the said John chooses to refuse the victuals, then they will give him yearly for his sustenance 10s in equal portions at the four chief terms. Further they will find for his at Christmas a tunic or 20d and the next year at the same feast a coat (toga) or 3s, and so on, a tunic and a coat, alternate years for the rest of his life. The said Thomas and Margaret to observe this agreement upon pain of 20s.
