Property in Buckinghamshire: Exemplification of a decree

Exemplification at the request of Provost Robert Alderigge, of a decree in the court of Augmentations of 10 February last allowing a certain indenture under the seal of the dissolved monastery of Merton, co. Surrey. The said indenture, of 8 June 1443, between the prior and convent of the church of the Blessed Mary of Merton and the Provost and College of Eton, witnessed that the convent, with royal licence, granted the College a pool in the Thames within the parish of Upton, co. Bucks, called Bullokeslok with all the fishing and waters in the river pertaining to the said pool viz. from the east corner of the land or close of the King called le Werke on the west side as far as the fishery called Cokkeshole on the east side; together with four "heytes" and all those lands tenements meadows and pastures with streams called Michell Mylwardeshaye Mille pond alias Milledam and Cowpennyng enclosed together and lying by Eton viz. between the Thames on the east and the highway leading from New Windsor to le Sloughe on the west and between the King's land called le Werde on the south and the way leading from Spitelbrigge towards Dachet on the north and extending along the bank of the Thames from le Werde for 40 feet beyond Cowepennyng on the east. To hold in perpetuity in exchange for 100s yearly rent which the abbot of Redyng pays the College for lands in Esthenrith, co. Berks.
