At a view of frankpledge and court of George, earl of Shrewsbury, on 10 October 1506 John Crippes, a customary tenant, informed the court that John Frenche surrendered a croft with two pygthles and a parcel of land called Fortes, late in the tenure of John French, his father, to the use of Isabel, his wife, for her life, with remainder to Thomas, son and heir of the said John Frenche, the son, now deceased, for a rent of 3s. Admission of the said Isabel. Fine 2s.
