Statement by master Richard Wynnesmore, notary public, that Sir William Garnet, priest, chaplain to Mistress Bulstrode, widow of Edward Bulstrode, esquire, examinde upon the last will of John Frenche, late of Hegeleie in the parish of Farnham Verdon, wrote a letter to the Provost dated 23 Septemeber [ ] giving information on the same. This letter master John Gulleston, in the presence of the said notary, delivered again to Garnet requiring him to shew whether it was his. Garnet received the same and in the chancel of Hegeleie church read it and confessed it to be his own with all the interlineations. Garnet then went from the chancel to the porch on the south side of the church and called Thomas Kawod, and then, in the presence of Gulleston and Kawood, required the said notary to make an instrument thereof.
