Indenture of bargain and sale, by lady Elizabeth Wells, of Holme Wood, co. Huntingdon, widow, for 10s, to the Rev. Thomas Carter, clerk, vicar of Burnham, of a cottage or tenement with garden and outbuildings adjoining at Cippenham in Burnham bounded on the north and west by property belonging to Mr Weatherhead, on the east by a cottage and garden belonging to John Holmans and on the south by a lane called College Lane; the premises being now in the tenure of James Baker, who has the right to the same for his life at a rent not exceeding £5. To the use of the vicar of Burnham for the time being, upon trust to apply the rent, after expenses paid in keeping the premises in repair, towards the support of the village school of Cippenham. A coloured plan of the property in the margin of the deed.

Seal, oval, 16 x 13mm, red wax, applied.
An attached schedule, sworn before a commissioner of oaths on 22 July 1856, testifies to the authenticity of the document.
An endorsement states that the document was enrolled in Chancery on 22 July.
