Content description
Tripartite indenture of bargain and sale, by Jonathan Davies D.D., and William Langford D.D., to John Keate, clerk, undermaster of Eton School, Thomas Carter, clerk, John Bird Sumner, clerk, Benjamin Heath Drury, clerk, and Edward Brown, gentleman, registrar of the College, of the advowson of the church of Burnham. The Provost and Fellows are the third party to the indenture. Previous deeds of bargain and sale back to 1681 are recited, by the first of which John Hawtrey, the grantor, a Fellow of the College, set up a trust by which only the nominees of the College should be appointed to the living.

The College seal, papered, on doubled tag, and seven impressions of a seal, square, 15mm, red wax, applied, profile of a long haired classical boy or maiden.
