Tripartite indenture of bargain and sale, by John Keate, clerk, D.D., headmaster, Thomas Carter, clerk, the Right Reverend John Bird Sumner, bishop of Chester, and Benjamin Heath Drury, clerk, of the island of Guernsey, to Isaac Gosset, clerk, vicar of New Windsor, John George Shaw Lefevre, of Battersea, esquire, Edward Craven Hawtrey, clerk, of Eton College, Thomas Batcheldor, registrar of the College, and William de St Croix, of Windsor Castle, gentleman, of the advowson of the church of Burnham.
Nine signatures.
Witnesses: William Davenport, servant to Dr Keate, Charles Brown, of New Windsor, Philip Hayes, clerk, of Guernsey, Henry Finmore, servant to Mr Hawtrey, Henry Raikes, chancellor of Chester, Charles Took, of the Middle Temple, barrister.
The College seal, papered, on doubled tag, and nine applied seals, rectangular, 20 x 18mm, red wax.
(1) A demi-lion rampant above [? TW] K. (Keate).
(2) Armorial, three ? lions passant guardant. A crest. (Carter).
