Grant by John Argentein, provost, and the scholars of the Royal College of St Mary and St Nicholas of Cambridge [King's College], with the consent of the bishop of Lincoln, in consideration of a benefaction of master John Doget
late provost, who gave vestments and jewels for the high altar to the value of £140, and £160 in money to buy lands, yielding above 8 marks, that the provost will nominate each year after the election of the vice-provost and other
officers of the College, another fellow, a priest, not an officer, unless dean in the faculty of theology, to say three masses a week, exequiae once and mass for the dead once (or instead of the exequiae another requiem mass), for the souls of John Doget, his relations, etc, with collect specified. He is to be paid 4 marks. In default penalties of 4 marks to the Bishop and 4 marks to Eton College. Given at Cambridge.
