Royal Patents: Licence to acquire lands

Licence for William Ketill and Richard Fitzwater, in conformity with Henry VII's licence on 23 March 1501 to the College of Eton to acquire lands to the yearly value of £27, to grant the Provost and College three messuages, a toft, four gardens, 103 acres of arable, 6 acres of meadow, 6 acres of pasture, 22 acres of wood and 14s 6d rent in Dorney, Boveney, Penne [Penn] and Wycombe, and for Robert Wodeford, John Hille and Richard Aldricher to grant them a messuage in Burneham [Burnham]; and for Robert Rede and Muriel, his wife, to grant them 2 acres of arable in Burneham; which are held from the crown and others separately and which are extended at 50s 3d yearly as appears by an inquisition taken before Thomas Langston, esquire, escheator of co. Buckingham, in part satisfaction of the said £27. Given at Westminster, by the King.
