Royal Patents: Public instrument testifying to declaration of oath of the Provost of King's College, Cambridge

Public instrument testifying that on 17 September 1443 in a certain low room at present the common hall of the College of the Blessed Mary and St Nicholas Cambridge, there being present and seated master Thomas Bekynton, keeper of the Privy Seal, master John Langton, chancellor of the university, master Richard Andrew, the King's secretary, and master William Say, the King's chaplain, and in the presence of John Blakeney, John Say and Richard Fowey, public notaries, a commission of the King to the said Bekynton, Langton, Andrew and Say, under the Privy Seal, was read, instructing them to receive the oath from master William Millyngton, Provost of the college of the Blessed Mary and St Nicholas. Millyngton then made the oath, which is recited, in the presence of master William Sutton, master John Foche, and John Shiringham, notary public.
