Confirmation of a grant by the prior of the church of St Mary, Merton, and the convent there, of 8 June 1443, to the Provost and College of Eton of a weir on the Thames in Upton, co. Bucks, of old called Bullokyslok, with the fishery and waters pertaining, to wit, from the east corner of the land or close called le Werde on the west to the fishery in the river called Cokkeshole on the east, and with four “heytes" and all those lands, tenements, meadows, feeding grounds and pastures with torrents called Michilmylwardeshay, Millepond alias Milledam and Cowepennyng, enclosed and lying by Eton, to wit, between the Thames on the east and the highway which leads from New Windsor towards le Sloughe [Slough] and between le Werde on the south and the way which leads from Spitilbrigge [Spital bridge] towards Dachet [Datchet] on the north, and extending by the bank of the Thames from le Werde for 40 feet beyond Cowepennyng on the west; all which lands they held in frankalmoign. To hold in exchange for 100s yearly which the abbot of Redyng [Reading] pays the Provost and College from a yearly farm for lands and tenements in Esthenryth [East Hendred], co. Berks, of the King's grant. And confirmation of a grant by the same to the same, of 8 February 1444, of all predial tithes which pertained to them by right of the parish church of Upton from the premises.
