Grant to the Provost and scholars of the Royal College of St Mary and St Nicholas of Cambridge [King's College] and to the Provost and College of Eton, after the death or vacation of Richard Caudray, now warden on the college of the King's scholars, called the Kyngeshalle [King's Hall] in the university of Cambridge, to whom the King granted the office for life, 2 July 9 Henry VI [1431], of an annual payment of 8 marks made from of old to the warden by the sheriff of Cambridgeshire, from the issues of the county, for his robes. The King's previous grant of 24 February 25 Henry VI [1447], to the said provosts and colleges of the donation etc of the said wardenship, after such vacation, and of the presentation etc of the scholars, in which grant the said annual payment is not mentioned, is recited. The intent is that the two colleges shall exercise such doantion and presentation in a manner to be determined upon between them and shall pay the said eight marks to the warden. By the King.
