Content description

The "will" of Henry VI concerning Eton College, its buildings and properties, in which the exact dimensions of the proposed buildings is recited.

Five seals, green wax, on plaited blue and white silk cords:
1) The duchy of Lancaster, 72mm
2) The signet for the duchy, oval, 12x10mm. An eagle displayed
3) The Great (Golden) Seal
4) The signet. Round, c.18mm. The royal arms beneath a crown
5) Seal appointed for the castles, lordships, manors, lands, tenements, rents, services, and other possessions put into the feoffment referred to in the document. The same in general design as the duchy, but larger 80mm. The floral decoration is slightly different. SIGILL...DUCATU...LANCASTR' TERRIS EIUSDEM DUCATUS IN FFEOFFAMENTO...
