Cookham, Bray and Maidenhead, Berkshire: Indenture of lease

Indenture of lease by John Munkedon, of Cokham, to Richard Bysshop, of Medmenham, of a messuage called Wodemancotes in Cokham together with lands separable and inseparable etc., except only the wood growing up upon the separable lands besides the wood and underwood for maintaining the hedge. From Michaelmas next for 5 years. Rent a third part of all the grain corn and hay, growing upon the said lands and meadows, reaped mown lifted and carted at the cost of the said Richard. The grantor agrees to bear all the burdens belonging to the King and to the lords in chief, except taxes imposed on the moveables of the said Richard, the said Richard being alos entitled to timber for two "cartbodyes" and five ploughs and harrows, and at the end of the term to have the easement of storing his grain in the barn there and of grinding and removing them together with the straw and chaff, as often as shall be necessary, up to the feast of SS. Philip and James (1 May) next ensuing, the said Richard being entitled to enter into the lands etc. at Easter.
