Item
27 July 1818
William Moody, to the bursar, concerning the College threat not to renew his lease, enclosing an affidavit by Thomas Tucker, carpenter, that there has never been enough timber on the College farm for the necessary repairs, so that from time to time oak and elm has been brought from Mr Moody's other estates to repair that of Eton College, and within the last four years he has put down two new barn floors of oak which cost the Rev William Moody £40 independant of labour, and there are now growing on the College estate 19 elm trees planted and fenced by the late William Moody, esquire.
