Content description

Indented bill, witnessing that Robert Welles, bursar of Eton College has sold to John Coper, of tame a certain platt of wood being 7 acres broad at one end and 4 acres broad at the other. The said John must leave all the standers that are at 24 inches and under above the ground, which standers are counted at 1100, and is to hedge and pale this platt, which lies in a wood called Schynnolds in Bledlow, at his own expense. The platt, which is counted by the said Welles and Laurence Smyth and John Stevyns at 3¾ acres in length, is estimated in all at 15 acres. John to pay 50 marks for the platt and to maintain the pale between the standing wood and the new coppice for 7 years. Also he must have away his wood within a year and three quarters and make a pale before Lady day next.
