Bledlow, Buckinghamshire: Letter concerning trees
Item
27 December 1827
2 folios
J J Harper, Bledlow Ridge, to Rev George Bethel. Butler refuses to give up the tree. So Harper has been to Aylesbury and consulted with Mr Tindal, the magistrate's clerk, who does not think a warrant can be taken out against Butler, as the title to the tree is the matter in dispute, and an action at law is the only remedy. As to the pound Tindal thinks the College is entitled to move it and no road can be legally claimed there. Harper suggests the College advise Tindal to take such steps as he deems necessary.
