Precept by Henry II to his justices, sheriffs and all his ministers in the sea ports of England and Normandy, that all the possessions and things of the prior and canons of St Barbara which their men have been able to assure as of their lordship are to be quit to toll and passage money and pontage and every other custom throughout England and Normandy. No one is to disturb them unjustly upon pain of £10.
Witnesses: the Bishop of Bayeux and Lisieux.
[It is possible that this document is as early as January 1155, the first time the King Henry II visited Oxford, when he as accompanied by the bishops of Bayeux and Lisieux. See Eyton's Court, Household, and Itinerary of King Henry II (1878) p.2]
