Content description
Inspeximus, by Odo, archbishop of Rouen, of a bull of Pope Alexander III, dated 1179, confirming to the abbey of S Victor en Caux its possessions, including those in England.
Seal, BM no.18,373, green wax, on doubled tag, the tags parted to emerge, one at the bottom of the seal, the other at right angles from the middle of the left side. A little is missing at the top and the bottom right; otherwise a perfect example of this beautiful seal.
The counterseal is perfect.
