Commission to Robert Tresilian and John Cary to inquire whether Thoms Provost, late prior of Stogursey, an alien priory in the King's hands on account of the war with France, cell of the abbey of Lonley in Normandy, being seised of the advowson of the church of Wotton, co. Somerset, as appurtenant to the priory (a yearly pension of 10s being payable to the prior therefrom), forged the common seal of the priory to the letters by which he granted it about the year 20 Edward III to one John de Stonford, in fee simple, and also forged the seal of the abbey to the confirmation of the grant, thus depriving the King of the presentation upon voidance, and of the said yearly pension during the war with France, and future priors, when the war is over, of both advowson and pension.
