Indenture between Thomas Trafford, of Wrixham, co. Denbigh, esquire, of one part, and Thomas Hutton, of the parish of St Pulchers without Newgate, esquire, William Bowyer, of Histon, co. Cambridge, esquire, Thomsa Hutton, of Chancery lane, co. Middlesex, gentleman, Thomas Bulkeley, of Esclusham, co. Denbigh, gentleman, and Edward Crue, of Wrixham, co. Denbigh, gentleman of the other part. Robert, late abbot of the monastery of the B V M of Valle Crucis, and the convent of the same, by indenture of 10 February 1529, let to Robert Trefor, esquire, and Joan Brereton, his wife, lands and tenements sometime in the tenure of David ap Jenkyn at Madock in Wrexham Vawr and Wrexham Vechan, to hold from 31 October 1553 for 99 years, at a rent of 23s 4d; the estate and interest in which of the said lessees is now come to the said Trafford.
By patent of 23 February 1599, the crown let to Richard Breame, Thomas Symnell and David Owen a parcel of land called Havod Yr Argloth and Havod Y Weddgar containing 100 acres of mountain land sometime called The Lord's Dayrie, co. Denbigh, being parcel of the manor of Eglwysegle, parcel of the lordship of Bromfield and Yale and late parcel of the lands of Sir William Stanley, Knight, attainted, to hold for a term of years not yet expired.
By patent, under the Exchequer seal, of 12 March 1602, the crown let to Richard Leighton, esquire, the said act recited premises, to hold from Michaelmas the last past for 21 years; of which the estate and interest of the said Breame, Symnell, Owen and Leighton in that third part which was in the tenure of Rees ap Richard is now come to the said Trafford.
Edward, Lord Wotton of Marley, Comptroller of His Majesty's Household, and the lady Margaret, his wife, by indenture of 7 August 1607, let to Meredith Jones, of Wrexham, co. Denbigh, yeoman, two watermills in Wrexham, late in the tenure of Thomas Jones, to hold from Lady day following for 20 years; the estate and interest in which is now come to the said Trafford, who also holds an interest in various other lands and tenements within the said lordship.
In consideration of the marriage of Richard, son of the said Thomas Trafford, and Mary, second daughter of the said Thomas Hutton, for £1000 paid by Hutton for a marriage portion, and in pursuance of articles of an agreement dated 29 march 1616, bargain and sale by the said Thomas Trafford to the said Bowyer, Hutton, Bulkeley and Crue of all foregoing estates.

Seal, oval, 16 x 13mm, red wax, on doubled tag.
